Even though my Grandad was on the Allied faction, I want to play as Germany too!

There is something cool about the 'last stand' battle!

A few Tigers vesus an never-ending stream of T-34s...That is what legends are made of!

        I see.

Last stand battles are always exhiting. If one just reads Ranciman's "The fall of Constantinople" will know what i mean.
I mean the fact of certain defeat and death ignored by the defenders as they make a superhuman effort.....

        Memories of Thermopylae.........

As for the "Germany's last stand" scenario i would be interested in participating in any effort to create it.
"Military training has three purposes: 1)To save ourselves from becoming subjects to others, 2)to win for our own city a possition of leadership, exercised for the benefit of others and 3)to exercise the rule of a master over those who deserve to be treated as slaves."-Aristotle, The Politics, Book VII

All those who want to die, follow me!
Last words of Emperor Constantine XII Palaiologos, before charging the Turkish hordes, on the 29th of May 1453AD.

Well, I think we have the seeds of an idea here!

A kind of inverse 'Red Front'!

          What do you think, Jim?
Is it possible to reverse engineer Götterdämmerung to be German playable...?

I would say it would be possible but in my eyes it won´t make too much sense as Germany´s last stand was more than desperate and there WAS no chance to survive. I know that a GREAT advantage of Civ 2 is that you can change history but I wanted this to be a non-fictional scenario as I have some projects on my mind/in progress that will be again fictional (or following an Alternate Timeline if you like).

If anyone is willing to do such a project, I would feel honored to assist as I have very much material about the 3rd Reich.

Btw, check out that link too discover something neat ....

Well the point would not be to win the war but rather forbid the allies from winning it.

But i was thinknig in more strategic terms than your mostly tactically oriented scenario.
