                  From a WWI Mideast Geek.

After 1913, Ottomans never wore Fezzes while on duty. Okay for depot guards, but not combat units.

They usually wore a kabalak, cloth wrapped around a wickerwork base (i.e. a sun helmet), or an arab kufiya.

The cavalry version of a kabalak had an upturned front, making them look something like a New England fisherman. The hat together with undersize Anatolian horses made the Turkish cavalry look comical. Nothing funny about their performance, though.

On the left, Case topped off an Alex unit with a 'kabalak'.

Turkish cavalry wore khaki, similar to the Turkish infantry Boco posted. They wore either the Enveriah hat (kabalak) or the sou'wester type Boco mentioned (just the officers I think?). French cavalry in 1914 had red trousers, and Hungarians wore the same light blue/grey uniform that the rest of the Austo-Hungarian Empire troops wore, albeit with Hungarian tight trousers. British soldiers wore puttees not gaiters. Apologies for knowing this crap. Alex Mor's units were otherwise excellent.

PS what is it with this fashion for taking Alex's units and sticking three of them in one tile?

Here's some WW1 era air strips I made a while ago. Note that the red flags are actually the colour which in FW/MGE shows the colour of the occupying civ.
