  • Help with my first scenario

    Hello everybody!

I have finally decided to make my first "real" scenario. I have made several before but then I wasn't making so many modifications.
This scenario should be about the Lord of the Rings. I know this has been made before by Harald Thompson, Favoured Flight etc. But I will make one too. This scenario will like Harlan's be on a big Middle Earth map which I took from Mercator's webpage and modified here and there and made it bigger.

Anyway as I have said in the Speculative Graphics Showcase I need two units. But noone was willing to help me there so I ask you here again. Is anyone willing to create an eye-unit. It should look like the eye that represents Sauron in the movie?
    I also need a Saruman-unit.

I will come back later if I need more help from you guys

    edit: spelling

It can only be achieved by understanding"

MGE or ToT? If you're desperate, I could adapt a ToT one from this image, but I'm not talented enough to make a MGE one.

I didn't reply because I don't know the first thing about making Nemo-esque units. Don't feel as though people don't want to help, but some of us just can't draw units. If you want a high-res unit, I could try but I warn you, it will probably turn out pretty badly.

I know that it's very hard to make units, I've tried it myself. And I don't want hi-res because it won't fit in with the other units.

uhm... been there done that and besides.. I can't come up with a great theme..
              I don't like it. So...

all the good themes are taken you know.. any proposals?
There are a lot topics of history that still haven't been taken.
Some I repeat on and on.
No-one made a scn about I Punic war,
There aren't numerous hellenistic scenarios, are there...
Arab conquests are poorly covered (I am theoretically working over one scn concerning it now),
Fatimids are a nice topic for a scn
There are (almost) no specificic crusade event scenarios, just not too good general view ones,
I wish there would be a scn about M.Ali in Egypt....
or about Armenia or Georgia in any way,
              there are few Indian scns,
I miss a scn about Byzantine reconquista by Macedonian dinasty,
there are practically no CE European scns and there are many topics there,
              etc

well I will just have to think about it for some time.. I still wanna make the Middle Earth one but if I can come up with a good theme that I can get much info about I think I will make a historical scenario first since I'm much better at making those.

No Middle Earth! History for ever!
And congratulations on defeating Poland yesterday.

The problem with historical scenarios is that they usally intail lots and lots of reading and countless weeks building it! (Am speaking from experiance, am making ' Invasion of Britainnia' for the last month, and just have finished putting all the cities on!) It is easy (relitivly) to make a scenario, another to make a brilliant one! Things you need to remember...

When you have contructed it, do a long testing!

Well, I'll go back to my scenario.
How can you defeat an enemy which will never accept defeat?

                            Apologies to Athedain for threadjacking

@Silpy: I had a 50% complete Romans in Britain scenario (BTW that's Britannia not Britainnia ) which I've lost now. Anyway, the best source I found with a wealth of info on Roman city names, Celtic tribes, which legions and Auxilia were stationed in Britain and tons of other stuff was this:

We talk about Roman History and related news about the roman empire. Non-profit organization.

                            Good luck with the scenario!
