  • I want my Vassals!

Well I'm a newbie in EU II.
I'm starting the Great Campaign with the Duchy of Milan (Northern Italy), after a couple of years spent increasing the relationship with Savoy and Genoa, and after having created a new Aliiance with them (I'm the leader) I want to make them my vassals (without a war of course).
The "tutorial" states that I can Vassalize(?) if:
    - I have the same religion (OK!)
    - I have an alliance (OK)
    - I have a royal marriage (OK)
    - my relationship is +190 or above

The point is that, when I send my diplomat to increase the relationship, let's say I'm at 188, as soon as the value gets to 190 either:
    - Genoa/Savoy asks me to become their Vassal and/or;
    - I can't send a diplo to ask them to become my vassal (and I don't know why).

Other infos for you "old" players:
    - my version is 1.04 (Italian patch is not yet existing...)
    - I wait the 1 month period of time before sending another diplo (and, yes I have another diplo....)

    ???? What do I miss???

(I can vassalize as result of a peace treaty without any problem......)
    googol... this is a number!

You have to be a much bigger nation both economically and militarily, else they would just "laugh" at you.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

...abd since they ask YOU to become THEIR vassal I bet they are bigger than you

Try keeping the relation with them while expanding a bit - take Modena, Mantua etc. Soon you will be the big boy in the alliance, then they will come to you for protection

        Again! Monet & Tax Issues!

It makes sense, I had a similar idea you confirmed.... => I'm now happy

        Now, second question:

        Tax and Money Issue:
how is calculated the annual amount received on the 1st Jan? Does it depend on the "level" of the monthly income allocated in the treasury?
And, above all, how much d you suggest to put in the monarch's (always empty) pocket instead to feed the scientists?

... awaiting for your enlightening answers...

I suggest you to go the the www.europa-universalis.com forums there are a lot of people there.

I find many answers to my problems.

PS: In my current game as Savoy I just vassalized Helvetia, Milan and Genoa
But I use the American version 1.05
