  • Bad Boy guide to reputation

    The following was copied word for word from the Europa Universalis forum and was done so because it might increase players understanding of the game.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Declaration of war

    DOW = Declaration of WAR
    same = same religion as country
    other = Other Religion than country
    CB = Casus Belli
    NOCB = No casus belli

    Regarding DOW's the numbers below are cumultive so a DOW without CB and with a truce should give 5

    DOW same noCB
    = 4

    DOW same CB
    = 1

    DOW other noCB
    = 4

    DOW other CB
    = 1

    DOW pagan
    = 0
    only for countries in Europe, otherwise you recieve the normal amount

    DOW Truce
    = 1

    Royal Marriages and Vassalization only affects stability not the Badboy-score regarding DOW's

    Peace deals

    1 province received in peace in offensive war with 'shield' aka
    National province
    = 0

    1 province received in peace in offensive war without 'shield' aka
    National province
    = 2

    1 province received in peace in defensive war with 'shield' aka
    National province
    = 0

    1 province received in peace in defensive war without 'shield' aka
    National province
    = 1

    1 province received because of enemy goverment falling
    (Turbo-annexing)
    = 3

    1 province received in peace both def. and off. against pagans as
    european
    = 0

    Military annexation same
    = 6

    Military annexation other
    = 1

    Military annexation of Pagan
    = 5 regardless of how many pagan provinces you recieve

    You don't recive badboy-points for force-converting or for force-vassalizing countries in peace-deals

    Other

    Comission of Privateers
    = 1

    Diplo Annexation
    = 1 per province

    Inheritance
    = 1 per province
    Losing BB-points

    Badboy points decrease: (1.05)

    Vhard=
    1 point per 6 years

    Hard=
    1 point per 8 years

    all other=
    1 point per 4 years

    Releasing a vassal
    = 1 per province

    Losing province in peace-deal
    = 1

        Dishonoring an alliance doesn't add BB points, right?

          Not according to the list on the offical EU forums. I believe dishonoring alliances only gives the aggrieved party a CB and perhaphes it also lowers your stability. I'll have to check on the stability part to make sure.

            Courtesy of Secret Master:

            Your reputation in the world as representated in the diplomacy screen is as follows in badboy points:

            * Honorable = 0
            * Respectable = 1-4
            * Slightly tarnished = 5-8
            * Tarnished = 9-12
            * Rather bad = 13-18
            * Very bad = 19-28
            * Extremely bad = 29-34
            * Dishonorable scum = 35-44
            * Worse than dishonorable scum = 45-60
            * Hated throughout the entire world = 61-100 and more...

              Indeed -1 stability for breaking an alliance.

                  How does the AI react to different BB reputations. What level can you have and not been in any real difficulty?

                  Do relations get better or worse on BB, and if so - how?
                  One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

                    Relations with other countries always go down with worse BB points plus it is more likely a country will reject a proposal (any proposal) from you if you have more BB. Note that this is true even if you give the country gifts in order to improve your relations with them.

                      Tarnished or less almost never casues any problem IMHO while Extremely bad or worse do it rather often.

                          Depending of the difficulty ur playing, you'll get more chance to get involved in wars against your neighbours if you are a badboy

                          If you're playing at very easy and easy you don't really have to care about badboy, but on normal and hard the AI will always declares war on you unless you're really too powerful. On very hard, every countries that can see you will declare war on you, that's actually named "Badboy wars" and it involves a LOT of micromanagement to win, to lose or even to fragment

                          Relations get worse with BB
