This looks a lot like Seeker's thread "I have EU2!"

Now shut up and spare a thought for those that have not this Christmas.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

aha! but by the time we get EU2 in this neck of the woods it will be more stable and with less bugs!

I bought EE today and it is very good. Little touchs like the animals reproducing (no it doesnt show them copulating) really lift it from the AOE/AOK era. I am having a blast............

Heh heh. I'll just bet that when EU came out you were telling the Americans " aha! Although it will have less bugs and be more stable when you get it, we got it first!"

          lol - that is true!

However, in this case Strategy First released the game before we, the beta testers, thought it was ready. We are still having bugs tracked down and fixed for the European release. SF took us by surprise and produced great gulps of dismay!
We are now getting the feedback from unhappy US citizens in the forums........

My brief look over there, however, seems to indicate these are things that *CAN* be fixed in a patch, like the strategic AI being too weak to band together against a major power. Since this was not a problem in EU1, I'm asssuming this will be worked out?

Yah. I hope most of them are fixed in er, um, how about 7 days (until due date for release here).

I thought about starting a "Patch 1.01 doesn't work at all on my computer. Some people may think its because I don't have the game yet but I think its the patch!" thread over there but I had second thoughts.

Yes many things can be fixed in a patch. Patches, for testing, are given to the beta testers everyday. Eventually a whole lot are incorporated into one big patch and issued for the commercial release. There should be another before xmas - that is the plan anyway. Problem is the "big patch" has to go to Strategy First to have their copy protection added and then they send it back to Paradox. Strategy First aint too quick at doing their part!
The AI is being tweaked and tested all the time. The beta testers copy is far advanced from the commercial release (because of all the patches being tested) and, IMO, the AI on the beta is as near finished as its ever likely to be. The game is much more challenging and the AI much more "canny"

                          Go on, just for me...

Anyway, I just got it today from Gamestop. Quite fun, but as yet I'm just poking my toe into the shallows of the vast ocean of gameplay that stretches before me... Too early to form a judgement.

Starting off with Castille - I've completed the reconquista ahead of schedule, but blimey, not much cash around..

The files for patch 1.02 went out yesterday morning. The coders at Paradox Studios are a class act, I tell ya. They even dedicated EU II to us.
