Those pops are assimilated very speedily lotm.

MB: I think you can change it by opening the save, find your country and modify the party there. I'm pretty sure that should be doable.

my first games were unsuccessful Greece, then I tried Sardinia, but also resigned after a couple of years. Then I tried Mexico and it was my first long game, but european powers' intervention just crushed me.
Then came Austria, which showed me how to play this game. Then came France (boring, stopped), Prussia (boring, unfinished), Russia (fun), Turkey (boring),
Austria again (more wars with Russia), It was my favourite game yet. I've colonised most of Africa and some other places. Several wars with Russia saw my armies capture Petersburg and reach Caucasus (never captured Moscow, though) and gave me as my provinces about what Hitler controlled at his best. Wars with Prussia gave me some provinces as well, so wars in Italy. My economy was flourishing. I was attacked by much-dreaded Britain, but due to my strange tactics, I've won and got its Indian and some african posessions. Yet, when the second war with Britain started, I decided to take a new game - wars with Britain are grueling and hard to win without a good fleet
Mexico again (USA attacked me... I was actually winning, cut deep into USA territory, up to Florida and Illinois, but my forces were at their end, while USA was getting stronger. I would have won, had Britain not attacked me at the same time causing my armies to defend the shoreline), Sardinia (I've united Italy and sigle-handly crushed Austria a couple of times, but Britain attacked me. OK. Slowly I was regaining balance, but then USA joined in and, after many years of war and having no hope of a peace treaty again, I resigned.
My Greece game came extremly well thanks to a great success in the first war against Turkey. I've captured much, much of Turkey, but am disappointed, 'cos
        1) western and northern anatolian provinces have turkish culture
        2) You can not recreate Byzantium
        3) to get Constantinople, You'd have to destroy entire Turkey, and it needs many many wars more
So, though it was going well, I resigned.
Right now I came back to Austria. My economy is not as great as in previous game, I don't know why. Russia was completely defeated, my troops finally captured Moscow and Tsaritsin. During the first war, perhaps because I'd guaranteed Russian independance, I could not have got what i've conquered, but only colonies them. So, I got Alasca, western Syberia, Caucasus and Azerbeijan, some islands etc. My second war and third wars were hard, because these provinces, far from mine, were easy for Russia to conquer and balance my enormous gains. Yet, they did bring me most of Congress Poland, a bit of Byelorus, most of Ukraine, Stavropol, Ural and some more.
As in my previous games, I was faced with wars on many fronts, max was when I had to fight Italians, French, Spanish, Prussians, Bavarians, Turks, Russians and Swedes at once.
But it's given me most of northern Italy, much of Bavaria, Upper Silesia, a couple of other prussian provinces, and some colonies.
My colonies consist of most of Africa, some Pacific islands, two provinces in Mexico. France declared colonial war against me, but ironically thanks to it, I got two tunisian provinces I needed to have a quick access to my Africa.
Britain declared colonial war at me, managed to take Namibia, but brave Erzherzog Albrecht managed to stop twice as big british forces in Niger. Thanks to this war, I overtook mostly british earlier, not claimed yet, Mali and some other province, which, however, damages my defence position.

Important: how do You encourage population growth and immigration?

I was playing victora revolutions.... I don't get how you're suppoed to industrialize with, say, south american countries when they continually elect laissez-fair parties and there are no capitalists in the country.

You must promote some capitalists obviously. One of the easiest countries to play for a noob is said to be Brazil you know.

Well, yeah... it only costs like 15,000 to make a farmer into a capitalist.

Are you playing with the expansion pack? How is it?
I never just sit and wait for that event. The reason is there are a ton of workers in southern Italy which will all leave due to lack of work so I want to get in there, force the event to happen, and build industry ASAP before I lose all my trained workers.
