Yeah, I disagree. Firstly, I think it's too early to say anything for sure. Secondly, I like what I see so far, except the map, which is steadily improving(if you follow the diaries you'll see that. And Johan said you could use any graphics card from this millennium, ie up to 6 years old, so it's not like it will be requiring much for a game from 2007).

I, for one, love Crusader Kings, and I am beginning to really enjoy Vicky in my current game as Austria. The original HoI was a bit weak -- wars of manoeuvre on the Eastern Front aside, WW2 is an extremely boring subject. Haven't tried HoI2.

CK does suffer from a weak strategic AI. It's hard to enjoy if the only thing you care about is world conquest.

ive played through one game of Vickie, and while its not as good as EU2, I found it enjoyable, even the simfactory aspects. Of course I played as Belgium, which is reasonably manageble.

And I havent yet dled the 1.04 patch, which is supposed to improve things.

Been playing Victoria the last few days. I think I'll like this one a lot, but god it's micromanagement heavy. I've been playing USA and wars vs Mexico or UK take forever as I can't kill their armies even if I repeatedly win all the battles. It also seems impossible to get a decent war score without taking a ridiculous number of provinces. However I don't even really know what I'm doing yet.

I think it also has a lot of rough patches. For instance as USA it costs 200000 to buy Arizona and New Mexico WTF? The fact I had to go look up cheat codes to continue this game was ridiculous. Maybe I suck but there was no way I could even make a positive income after all the loans at 18%. If I knew it'd cost so much I would have said no. I could get those states much cheaper even if I had to fight a a few wars.

It's also annoying that many of the events don't give you a clue about what will happen. I tried taking Texas as a territory and they said no even though they only had Austin left. Time to reload again...

It'd be less micromanagement especially in trade if you could set two limits for each good rather than one, i.e. one limit for selling and one for buying. Instead you have to set only one and choose between sell and buy. stupid.

What's the deal with everyone in the USA moving to California? Three fourths of my population lives there. It doesn't seem possible to manage RGOs, or factories(unless I put them in California). Is Victoria just messed up? There isn't much info on the official forums that I could find.

California is hard-coded as an external immigration magnet.

If you build factories in other states people will move there. Normally New York and Virginia end up with fairly large populations.
