Well, just finished this first game ^^
Ended second, just after Austria. I had more points than them in all but diplomacy. I suppose that the event-based annexion of Hungary make for a LOT of points.

But I'm not too ashamed of how my Byzantine Empire fared, from the verge of extinction, to the first world power, in barely four centuries ^^

And above all, I've reached (ok, it was a close call, but I did it anyway ^^) the two objectives I was putting to myself : getting all my Core Provinces, and getting Rome back.
    Roman Empire is reborn ^^

    End map :

Next time I suggest worrying less about your shield provences and consintrating more on the Centers of trade and those proviences that have a culture you have as they give you manpower. If you switched to Catholic and then switch back to Orthodoxed (as happened in real life) then you would have gained Italian culture and doubled your man power. also there were four centers of trade with in easy reach of you which should have been taken way before the end. CoTs are the way to win a game.

Still, not bad for a first game.

Tass, Tass, Tass... I´m so very disappointed...

Anyway, I usually write alternate history events, for most of those given in EU2 are tied to a historical plot. I had games when Spain and England annexed France, which made anything related to France obsolete...
What I really hate about event-scripting is that you need to start a new game in order to make the new events work...

          Akka,

I'm suprised you didn't go for astrakhan, pretty good province right next door.... however, you would have needed to take that before everyone else starts gobbling up the golden horde (who i like to call the Tin Horde).

How strange that sweden ended up getting all of russia...

          Who is Tan?? (or was)

            Which one is Astrakhan ?
(basically, I got the territories that ended up getting me a "nice" shape, ie : a territory recovering more or less the highest point of the Roman Empire, with perhaps a bit expansion here and there)

Which one do you call "Tan" ?

is the COT with gold (i think???) right next to the top-right of your empire.

The tan i was speaking of is the country that has astrakahn and volgorad as capital....(north east)

                Ah, ok ^^

The tan country is the Golden Horde (that has been quite eaten since the start). I didn't get the province, well simply because I didn't start any war against them. Most of my empire is included into the HUUUUUGE CoT of Alexandria (it has grown considerably since the start of the game), anyway.

But next time, I'll be even bigger ^^
