I think he's playing as germany, the black stripe is just hard to see on the dark background.

Germany is the gray colour, if that's what you are refering too.

I thought so, but I didn't think it would be that easy to conquer all that territory from the Allies.

1.02 promises to change that.

It'd be very difficult to do that in 1.02. you get 10% dissent for going to war with a country who you don't have claims on, and 5% for a country that you do have claims on.

Much easier to just kill the big guys and coup the rest.


Edit: and it's all around much more difficult now aswell, with the bug fixes, improvements, and AI tweaks.
