  • Need advice

I just saved enough money to buy a couple of new PC games:

I was thinking of buying EU2...
Do you think is a bad idea, great idea, medium idea.... whatever idea?
Can you give me any comments and your impression about the game?

    Thank you

Impossible to answer with any confidence.
It depends what kind of games you like, your attention span etc etc.
EU2 has a rather steep learning curved.
I would suggest that you go to the Official EU forums and have a look thro there. It will give you some idea of the complexity of the game and whether it is for you or not

Second opinion: if you are used to games as civ or smac it has an easy learning curve. If you're used at AoK or something like that, you'll find it hard.

3rd Opinion: If you like strategy games, then it's awesome. Probably the best strategy game I've played yet so far.

Fourth opinion: I second the third opinion, with the exception of SMAC.

I'm used to play Civ2 and now Civ3.
So if you say is easy to learn if I played Civ-games it's some points more...
I went to the official forum and......
            MAN
            THIS GAME IS FREAKIN AWESOME

I really want to buy it now

If you end up liking EU, you might want to also look into Legion, which will be released in a matter of days. It uses part of the EU engine.

You are right... It looks like a good game.
I'll wait till Legion is out, see which one looks better and decide.
It can always end up that I'll buy both

If you must choose between the two, get EU2. You can combine it with saved games from the upcoming title Crusader Kings

Glad you like it so far Giovanni. It's somewhat difficult to get into, but what you understand it, and start playing some games, it hooks you in for a long time, trust me.

No it does not. The game is a turned based game made by Slitherine Software in cooperation with Paradox Entertainment. While an excellent game in its own right, it does not use the EU2 engine.

That is correct, Legion is not using the EU engine. But the later comming Crusader Kings and Hearts of Iron is.

And IMHO EU2 is the best computergame made this far

Really? I could have swore Legion used part of the EU code for the provinces.

It doesn't. I'm one of the closed beta testers for the game so I know what I am talking about.
