  • Victory Points?

How do I know what my victory points are? In any place where VPs are displayed I see a big fat 0 no matter what! I've taken on missions and been informed that I earned 20 VPs. My VP displays still read 0. I have v 1.07c of the game. I've downloaded, but not installed, the 1.08 patch because I have games in progress and I hear on the EU site that there are actually more bugs in 1.08.

I don't particularly care about the VPs since when I play a game like EU my goal isn't so much to amass a score as it is to do bettert than history. It's just one of those things that makes the game a truly great, but unfinished, product. I've never finished a game. Do you get a score at the end?

I've had the exact same problem. What is up with this?

You have to switch it on in your first game, then it stays on unless you change it.

Victory points is a poor way to evaluate your performance. Best to set your own objectives, then your have more freedom to do what you like.

Yeah VP points suck, spain always has so many but I'm much more powerful as England. I usually have to whoop some Spain butt at about 1750 so I don't lose.

Also those, no spain in british isles worth 50 is dumb. Theres no point in that duh.

I disagree - the games puts major importance on VPs, so whether they are good or bad is irrelevant.

The first window that pops up when you start any game tells you that success or failure is based on these points - no mention is made that they are switched off by default!

Of course, once you know the solution, it is trivial. But there will be many newbies who will buy this game, find that it doesn't work (because this is not explained in the manual and it is not obvious from the menu what you should do), and will simply return the game.

EU has to be modified to make it more accessible to first-time users - it isn't enough to post solutions on boards like this.
