I hardly ever play it. It's not as fun as the other Paradox games. Not that I play too much HoI2 either. Vicky has too much unneccessary MM and too much confusing elements in it to be fun over a longer period of time. HoI2 is too war orientated for me to hold the interest for a long time(yeah, I know it's a WW2 game, but it's fun for some time...).Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10

I play Victoria! Right now, I've got a VIP game going as France - but, it's early.
Like Nikolai mentions, there is a lot of MM - particularly in the early years when you're trying to set up your economy. For that reason, I'm slow getting into games, but once things are rolling, it's excellent."What did you learn in school today, dear little boy of mine?
I learned our government must be strong. It's always right and never wrong,.....that's what I learned in school."

Playing Sardinia right now. It's going fairly well, conquered the 3 statelets within the first 2 years and Tuscany about a decade after that. I intend to attack the Papal States within the next 2-3 years.
My economy is rated 4th globally, beating Austria-Hungary, Prussia and Russia, and I've railroaded most of my territory. My army is fairly sized but top-notch technology&equipment wise. I allowed land-owners to vote to turn the gov't into a constitutional monarchy, to prevent plurality causing problems.
It also seems I managed to escape the liberal revolution and country is stable... the future is bright.
On the downside I lost three factories so far due industrial crashes, luckily only one that was actually being used. Corruption is also being a minor nuisance.
Besides my own expansion the game has been rather quiet so far. All other European borders remained the same and it seems most countries are a bit slow to industrialise.DISCLAIMER: the author of the above written texts does not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for any offence and insult; disrespect, arrogance and related forms of demeaning behaviour; discrimination based on race, gender, age, income class, body mass, living area, political voting-record, football fan-ship and musical preference; insensitivity towards material, emotional or spiritual distress; and attempted emotional or financial black-mailing, skirt-chasing or death-threats perceived by the reader of the said written texts.

Colon: How did you manage #4 in industry that quick? As the USA, I only managed a #5 so far! Darn Prussians are world leaders with about thrice the value I have.Heinrich, King of Germany, Duke of Saxony in Cyclotron's amazing Holy Roman Empire NES

And now I want to know how you managed to avoid the civil war.DISCLAIMER: the author of the above written texts does not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for any offence and insult; disrespect, arrogance and related forms of demeaning behaviour; discrimination based on race, gender, age, income class, body mass, living area, political voting-record, football fan-ship and musical preference; insensitivity towards material, emotional or spiritual distress; and attempted emotional or financial black-mailing, skirt-chasing or death-threats perceived by the reader of the said written texts.

And as for industrialising the US, it's really simple: research industrial techs, build factories (preferably clothes, steel, paper, furniture, glass...) and railroad like mad. Don't be scared of debt, you can easily handle 10-20k, even more.DISCLAIMER: the author of the above written texts does not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for any offence and insult; disrespect, arrogance and related forms of demeaning behaviour; discrimination based on race, gender, age, income class, body mass, living area, political voting-record, football fan-ship and musical preference; insensitivity towards material, emotional or spiritual distress; and attempted emotional or financial black-mailing, skirt-chasing or death-threats perceived by the reader of the said written texts.

In fact, you can manage large sums of debt. Upgrading all your rail will do wonders for your output, by increasing effeciencey ratings of the provinces where you have industries. Your industrial score will rise dramatically as a result."What did you learn in school today, dear little boy of mine?

I've seen that written several times, but seriously, 20k in debt is accomplished in no time, you can't build much RR with that.:confused;Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.-Isaiah 41:10
