  • I need some EU2 refreshers

I've started playing EU again recently, and need to refamilarize myself with the game, and the msot recent patch.

    A couple questions to start:

I conquered byzantium straight away as turkey but was unable to annex them. Why? I thought EU2 used a three province rule... am I wrong?

Are there any minors which have been given a lot of new events and flavour?

EU2 doesn't use the 3-province rule, Victoria does. You can only annex non-pagans if they have only one province remaining.

Play AGCEEP, and most countries get more events and some(like Byzantium) get the choice (before starting the campaign) to have fantasy events of how things could have been if the country survived.

        Ok... another one.

I'm playing as Turkey and I've force vassalised Karamon. About 80 years after the fact, I've finally gotten them to like me again... but i can't diplo annex them. why? I have 200 relationship, an 80 year vasslization, neighbouring provinces, I'm not at war.... ect. Why don't I get the option to annex?

EDIT: Ooohhhh, I don't have a military alliance though. That's it, isn't it?

          Correct, sir!

Cannot diplo annex unless you're part of the same alliance family, at least ten years as vassals, and stellar relations.

It also helps to have higher stab than the country you wish to annex, and a larger army (at least that's been my experience).

Any tips for vassalizing another country? In my game as Turkey I've expanding quite well, along with my close ally Ak Koyumbo (or whatever) and I've been trying for a century to vassalize them... with no luck. They basically make up the eastern half of what I consider my empire, and I want it now.

Conquer them... Without them being relatively small compared to you and you having a good monarch, your chances are pretty bad I'm afraid. But a force vassalization might help...

                  It's Ak Koyunlu I think.

Keep declaring war and bring them along. Eventually they will dishonor the alliance then you declare war and force vassalize them.

Another tip: waiting for 20 years to diplo-annex seems to greatly improve your chances of pulling it off.

I always wait 30 years also the bigger your army and the closer it is to them the more likely they are to accept annexation.
