Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I've been playing a game as Italy and have been really enjoying this patch. After completely decimating my navy, britain started sending small landing divisions to italy, presumably in an attempt to distract me from africa where I was kicking their butts.
Now that I've taken africa, though, my forces are spread thin and a joint effort by Britain and Canada has opened up a beach-head on the western coast of africa while my main armies are stuck in a quagmire trying to reclaim Ethiopia from the british... and to make it worse, I've just run out of resources (despite having also conquered greece and the entire arabian peninsula) so my industry is only going at 2/3s efficiency, and it's such a long, long way to that resource-rich congo.
But on the plus side, I've started to rebuild my navy with two freshly built battleships and three more advanced ones in production, and have been able to slip out of the suez canal to destroy british convoys going through the indian ocean.
Gibraltir is just swarming with allied ships - I saw one poor german u-boat get beat up by a stack of 70 ships (British, French, and American) all in one go. The AI navy is really active now, and it was only because I had already transported a good number of troops to africa before the war started that I was able to take control of the mediterranean coast and suez canal.
Are paratroopers still impossible to use? I won't go higher than 1.04 because I like being able to use paratroopers no matter the organization of my transport planes.
I'm playing a game as them right now, and although I haven't actually faced the germans yet, I'm expecting a cakewalk. It's only 1939 (i've just annexed finland) and I outnumber germany in infantry and armoured divisions, and I'm fairly confident I out-tech them aswell, since I have basic submachine guns and am researching late-war theory already. (This is on normal difficulty)

Well, I've fighting the germans now, they declared war on my in mid-1940. It's now october and I've just arrived in Warsaw. They are puting up a good fight though, I'd say we are about even tech-wise but the luftwaffe gives them an upperhand. (especially since I just lost my entire intercepter force due to overconfidence in my land defense at that province... ) Still, I outnumber them enough hat I can apply pressure all along the front while they can only focus on one area at a time. They've broken through the front lines, and even pushed me back a bit at the start, but I just keep moving forward in the other areas and eventually envelope them.
Britain is doing pretty well, too. They've been able to land in Denmark and hold it for a month or two (mainly because the germans are focused on me) and they've taken Rome from Italy, although there's still alot of fighting down there, I think.

Did they take Norway?
Nope. The Kreigsmarine doesn't stand much of a chance against the Royal Navy, and whatever they have left in the baltic sea ports are hiding from the modest soviet fleet. Aside from a few submarine skirmishes, I haven't really seen any naval battles yet.
As I've gotten closer to berlin (It's just across the river now) they've seemed to get more desperate. The front was starting too look like swiss cheese with both sides constantly eveneloping the other and breaking through encirclements, but it's mostly stabalized now and I'm trying to hold the line while I can conquer romania and catch up in the south because I'm geting a bit too spread out now.
Britain had taken about half of Vichy France, but germany kicked them out. They've also taken back a bit of italy, but there are still three british provinces there. And surprisingly enough, Italy's still holding out in Libya.

You haven't tried 1.05c? I thought that patch did a good job with everything in general.

I tried whatever version C.O.R.E. used. You had to wait until organization was 100 to paradrop. Sorry, that's retarded.
Yeah, I think I read somewhere on the paradox forums that that was done to simulate the complete supplying and refueling needed before sending paratroops off. I guess the idea was that since paratroopers were going behind the lines they should be fully supplied incase the regular units took to long to link up. Just a guess though.

well it sucks, and I'm sticking with 1.04 unless later versions get rid of that nonsense.
