  • Kingdom of Jerusalem

I'm thinking about starting a grand campaign as the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Has anyone done this before and do they have any helpful advice? I obviously need to get Lebbenon since it is the only Catholic provience nearby and by chance I also have a CB shield on it. Still, the population is very small so I will have little man power plus I won't be able to buy mercenaries since it's not a European state and lastly all of the proviences KoJ has CB shields on are dirt poor.

Any helpful suggestions? I'm especially interested in slider setting and alliance options. Right now I'm leaning towards canceling the vasalization as soon as I have an all cav army built and then joining Venice's or the Knights allainces.

If you have the EEP, you can also start as the Knights of St.-John and turn into the Kingdom of Jerusalem after you've conquered the holy lands. Drawback is you would lose all the remaining Knights events and leaders, so you might want to create KoJ event and leader files copying the Knights ones.

Well, if the Knights had reinstated the KoJ it's a pretty safe bet the Kingdom wouldn't have got the Knight grandmasters as kings though...

Judge has done an amazing AAR over at the Paradox AAR section. He has become one of the greatest powers in the world. Do have in mind, however, that this isn't easy.

Yeah, how should you get started there? Probably kicking Byzantine arse, then Ottoman, then Venice...

That is, getting all those nice agean (and Italian) provinces in between... likely to have no chance to do well without pesky BB wars though
