  • Will EU II work on Windows XP?

I was just wondering if EU II will work on Windows XP?

Also how is the AI in the game?

Finaly how many nations are playable in the grand campaign?

Yes, I am runninmg it on Win XP.

The AI is rather good, could be better but i think it is ok.

In EU II, All nations wich exists in EUII at the start of the GC, I belive it is somwhere between 70 and 100. But it tends to behave more logical in Europe if the player is playing one of the European nations.

It runs fine for me too. The AI is as sid good, if not perfect. There are in the beginning of the GC about 200 countries to play, IIRC. That is all countries that existed in 1419.

There is so many? Ok I never counted them, there are a lot.

The where more nations in real life but the ones with areas considerable smaller than an EU2 province is not in.

Yes, you are of course right. Take the HRE for example! I just lookedd at the cover of my EU2 copy, and there it stands "over 200 playable nations".

Are you sure? I've just unified France and Spain as Burgundy. That doesn't seem all that logical.:P

It is not illogical, Burgundy was a powerhouse. And with a few breaks and a fewer crticall deaths could have been a large nation. So for them to get France are not illogical.

The AI is not that great so if a (good or rather good) player are playing a nation THAT nation will probably go better or much better than historical, but the rest of Europe behaves resonable, If the player is playing a non-European nation I am told that Europe often gets rather weird.

When I'm playing Russia, Russia always gets weird too. Just imagine a historical Russia+half of Sweden+ Australia+Central America+ bigger (and the most valuable "golden") half of South America+ half of Canada+ a couple of provinces here and there all around the world (India, Afrika, Madagaskar, South of modern USA.)
I just finished my Novgorod's GC.

Sounds good. At which difficulity btw? Novgorod is nevertheless not directly easy after what I've heard.

Novgorod is very hard unless you can get an alliance with a big power in the first few days. If everyone DoW's you, you're toast. Sometimes I can make Sweden or Lithuania an ally and go from there. Picking the Muscovites instead is definitely the softer option.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

5/5 of course. Beginning was a nightmare. Grumbold is correct. Those bastards (my greedy neighbors) tryed to capture my CoT.

You mean VH and "whatever-the-highest-agression-level-is"? I guess you play on 1.07? From 1.06 and onwards, the level was changed, so that the new normal equals very agressive. If you have the level more than normal IIRC, the AI will more or less kill itself by waging war here there and everywhere all the time. Actually, it's said to be harder to play on normal than very agressive!

Anyway, it's impressive what you've done. Novgorod is not directly easy!
