even commando was good.

metal gear for the nes remains one of my all time favorites.

Sonic also has better music than Mario.

However, the Mario series actually managed to survive past the 8/16 bit era. All the Sonic games since 'Sonic and Knuckles' have been utter garbage, whereas decent Mario games are still being produced.

I haven't played Sonic Advance 2 on the GBA yet, which is apparently a step back in the right direction for the series.
