I used to play it, but I got bored and never bothered to check it anymore. Now I went there and noticed that not only my country still exists, but it has a better ranking than before! And I don't even play it anymore!

Not really, it is pretty much an economic sim type of game. There isn't really anything you do except manage the economy of your country.
