HI I got Neverwinter Nights recently and have been playing as a wizard. I got the barbarian to be my henchman at the trade of blades so as to get some fighting power and finished the prison quest. My question is: will I need any other henchmen? Is it going to be possible to get through the game without a rouge, or do I need someone to pick locks? So far I have gotten by with knock spells and having my barbarian bash stuff open, and if I needed to I could set my familiar to a pixies which has something thieving abilities. What about a cleric, will I need one of those for this game, or is it enough to rely on potions for healing?

I went with the pixie for rogue skills, and the barbarian for fighting. Toss in a summon and the game is ridiculously easy. It's almost impossible to die unless you just run out in the middle of everything.
I used a cleric only for the Beggar's Nest portion of the game. Everything else, the barb was better for.John Brown did nothing wrong.

You never need a rogue. With a couple points into the trap sensing skill you'll almost always see traps (plus there is ussually a physical tell on the ground) and good strength with a little magical damage can open any object which can be opened by a rogue.
And you can also fire / hire henchmen any time you want. I find its easiest to just hire them all and take them individually to the teleport place. Then whenever you want a different one, teleport back, switch yours out for the one you want, and teleport back.
And felch is right, the game is pretty easy.By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may get to be a boss and work twelve hours a day.

in the original campaign you don't need a rogue.
As a wizard you have many choices. You could multiclass with just 1 level of rogue to gain a ton of skills. And with your high intelligence and dexterity (hopefully you have this for the AC bonus), a wizard only needs 1 level of rogue if that. They can still boost their rogue skills each level because of their intelligence bonus. Just dont' forget concentration and spellcraft.
or you can use the pixie familiar. I hear it's sound is annoying though.
Or you can use Tomi- but he is annoying as well.
Or just have your barbarian bash open locks and trip over traps (he has the hp's to survive them). Most traps do not do that much damage anyways.

Non of you has mentioned the simple, albeit, time consuming method of disarming traps.
Use the panther familiar, which can detect traps.
Then simply use your wand of frost(with unlimited charges/uses per day!) and zap any trapped item until you blow it apart.
ACK!Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!

I played as a Paladin and had Tomi as my hireling almost the whole time, only trading up to fight really tough opponents. His sneak attack is really, really cool, and I prefered to spend my skill points elsewhere rather than on detecting traps. I zipped through the SP campaign pretty quickly with him.
And I never got bored, either!Tutto nel mondo è burla

Is NWN worth bothering with if one is only going to use it for SP?
In which I, of course, mean largely the player-designed modules - as apparently there are a few a pretty good ones out now, including one fairly highly recommended based on Ravenloft.
There seems to be an expansion in the works too. (Surprise surprise ).

Get the wand of frost. Unlimited uses and as powerful as a small crossbow. It's magical damage will open any chest or door that can be bashed.
The custom modules are the saving grace of NWN.“As a lifelong member of the Columbia Business School community, I adhere to the principles of truth, integrity, and respect. I will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
"Capitalism ho!"
