Wtf! Why would copy protection need to be used on a demo?!?
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
Well, I finally downloaded the demo, and went on to install it. Sure enough, it never asked my for a key (though I have got it from Gamespy), and so when I tried to run it, it said it couldn't find the PAD key file, or some such thing. So, I uninstalled it, and am too lazy to install it again...
When you are running the installation, it brings up the gamespy window showing your password. Still, I don't see the point of it, unless they are just testing new copy-protection software.

The fighting is a bit weird, and sometimes it seems the best tactic is to sit in the middle of space not moving, and just firing at the fighters around you. If you start moving towards them, you will just end up running into them.

The combat is great, love the mouse control. I've been having issues with trying to play space combat games with my gamepad, so this makes it all the better. Flying around and shooting at the enemy is quite easy, the only downside is the way weapon selection is during the heat of battle.
Best to remember though, the demo represents an early part of the game, so the AI of the people you go up against probably isn't going to be as tough as what you'll come across in other systems and later in the game.
