It went gold today, the long anticipated game Freelancer. This looks sure to pry a few bucks from my wallet. Link
It's candy. Surely there are more important things the NAACP could be boycotting. If the candy were shaped like a burning cross or a black man made of regular chocolate being dragged behind a truck made of white chocolate I could understand the outrage and would share it. - Drosedars

Never heard of it before but I'll await in depth reviews with interest. Looks like an Elite/Privateer kind of game which is a plus in my book.
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

Elite and Privateer were awesome games, but I admit that I hadn't heard of Freelancer. Sounds interesting....
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

Freelancer has been in development for something like four years. I thought it was supposed to come out shortly after Starlancer, taking advantage of the same graphics engine etc. I was interested back when it was announced, but times have changed and so has my taste in games..........

Probably somewhere on their page, though I doubt they are very high as the game has been in creation a long time.

The reason it took forever was an insane employee turnover rate.

One of my friends worked on the network code for about 6 months before he couldn't put up with it anymore...

Excellent. I'll probably be able to play it then if it is any good.

Not to mention they couldn't decide on a design and Chris Roberts wanted to make a movie and then a TV series.

Interesting. Hopefully it won't look and play like a game meant to come out years ago.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

Personally, I won't mind it looking like it was meant to come out years ago nearly as much as I would it feeling like it was meant to come out years ago.
