AoM, best race and strategies?

Well I am in the Egyptian campaign somewhere right now, I only know how to play the Greeks a bit, but I haven't even tried all their techs, gods and units yet..


When i play a random game, i'm usually an egyptian, fighting norse on Midgard

The thing is, he always rushes me, I can hold off that attack at the expense of my entire army of course...

Soon thereafter he does a second attack, with mobile battering rams that are invulnerable to pierce attack, protected by a whole bunch of other units that slaughter my myth and spearmen...

My problem is that he always does the same thing, and I don't seem to be able to kill all the battering rams (there's always like 10 of them at least) in time, they're pretty hard to kill... What's a good egyptian unit to kill them? the egyptians also don't have heroes to counter the anti myth units the norse always send along... and the priests are just too expensive!

Cavalry or infantry is your counter.

The Norse are very rushlike.......but you can get enough of a classical army to stop them (it is way easier to defend) if you have your build order sorted.

If you know in heroic they will come with siege eventually prepare some counters.

Egyptian units are way better in Heroic, so Ra Fast Heroic is a popular strategy.

You need to get at least 3 Barracks up when you have hit Classical soon, and keep pumping out units. Scout the enemy and see what he builds. Remember Preists are great against myth units, so have some.

Hmm at 100 gold a piece?? they die quite easily...

Yeah, against units. Against those Norse hero things they are good.

Priests are good things. They heal your units, very fast if idle, and they counter myth units easily. Also, they got long range and can provide some ranged support if that's what you need.

With techs of Nephtys, they're waaaay better. And since I usually play as Ra, Priests are great since they empower.
