I'd recommend trying. MP is a very different kettle of fish, but if you are willing to acquire some skills (which takes time in MP) then it's usually great fun.

Yes, I have just picked up this game...very nice. Despite my computer being quite old, it seems to work very well (I have a 700MHz and a GeForce 1 DDR), in fact better than AoE2 hehe. Very impressive

My friend has 128 RAM, but it doesn't work because his Graphics Card and Sound Card uses up some of it...

However, I have 256, and I just installed GeForce 4 today, so

Well spike... i have a crack for it if you want, finding a cdkey is another cup of tea though....

The game is awesome, but i think i prefer AoEII more because that game is easier to control, the units run in better formations (you can choose them) and it involves more units (i don't like the fact that some units use up 5 pop in AoM !!!! and they're hellaciously expensive as well!), i actually find that there is less room for tactics in AoM than in AoK,... apart from some god powers of course, but that's probably because i'm hardcore AoK ...

annoying thing is that trees are blocking sight, and makes it hard to lay out a big base... but of course, the graphics (of the trees!) are really nice!

You can choose the formation in AOM too.

To stop trees blocking your view why not just rotate the camera? That's what they made it 3D for.

When you highlight some units there should be an 'advanced options' button: two crossed swords with an arrow through it.
Click that and it opens up the options to select 'Defensive/Aggressive' stance and the formations, as well as patrol commands etc etc etc....

I'm gonna bump this thread, because I just got AOM a couple of days ago. I am up to chapter 10 or so, and have played a couple of 1v1's with the comp. So far I like what I see.
