I'm looking forward to it too. The main reason why can be summed up in five words:

    Ray. Liotta. Does. The. Narration.

Goodfellas is one of my favourite films, so this is gonna be SO cool.
If I'm posting here then Counterglow must be down.

<Kassiopeia> you don't keep the virgins in your lair at a sodomising distance from your beasts or male prisoners. If you devirginised them yourself, though, that's another story. If they devirginised each other, then, I hope you had that webcam running.
Play Bumps! No, wait, play Slings!

Here's a quote from last GTA3 - Vice City thread... After reading an article about it, I made a little resume, about what the game contains...

        - Vice City is twice as large as Liberty City
        - All areas of Vice City is avaliable from the start
        - 9 hours of radio (3 hours in GTA III)
        - 40 weapons (15 in GTA III)
        - An autoaim, that aims on priority not on proximity
        - Pedestrians now take breaks, skate, etc
        - More buildings to enter (Not like AmmoNation), e.g. Disco
        - Cops now chase others
        - Gangs are more active, they might steal a car or kill a pedestrian
        - Lazlo (Sp?) is back (The funny guy from the last radio station)
        - New side jobs, like Pizza delivery
        - 120 vehicles (50 in GTA III)
        - Motorcycles are back (Clothes even blowing in the wind)
        - Snipers can shoot tires
        - More reflective surfaces
Here's the link to the thread: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...threadid=59129

And the question is still open: Why did they choose the 80'es...would be much more interesting if they chose the year 2020 instead...

          Now that's the worst part...

If they don't have a 100% lazlo channel (Like in GTA3) I'll just stick to my MP3's...

Choosing the 'near future' as a setting for the game would have been far too predictable.
80s stuff is in vogue now (at least it is in the UK ) so it makes sense to pick that era. Very kitsch.

I believe they said they went back to not having the entire city open from the start.

And Lazlow is the DJ for the Rock station (if you remember, he said in gta3 on chatterbox that he started working there after being kicked off the rock station). Personally, I like the soundtrack a lot. And I think the 80s setting will be lots of fun.

Check out the latest trailer at the website:

Welcome to the 1980s. From the decade of big hair, excess, and pastel suits comes a story of one man's rise to the top of the criminal pile as Grand Theft Auto returns.Vice City is a huge urban sprawl ranging from the beach to the swamps and the glitz...

Lots of cool stuff, including doing a driveby shooting in a helicopter.

The near future might be predictable...but it will defently also be more cool...the 80'es are just so...outdated...And music from the 80'es are very rare...well there were only very few artists in the 80'es who actually could make music...

Well...I haven't followed the news, it was just the summary I made from that article...

                      New Gamespot preview:

GameSpot is the world's largest source for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, PS Vita, Wii PC, 3DS, PSP, DS, video game news, reviews, previews, trailers, walkthroughs, and more.

You can look forward to substantially improved graphics, including much more detailed character models and a noticeably greater draw distance, meaning you'll see much further down the horizon than you could in GTAIII. You can look forward to player-friendly options like having a full map of the city that reveals all the relevant locations and main roads, as well as the ability to take a cab back to a mission area after getting busted or wasted during a mission attempt.

The fact that you can actually furnish your home and acquire a wardrobe over the course of the game certainly seems like a nice touch, though, and another point of interest is the fact that you can take small vehicles like motorcycles indoors with you. Shopping malls plus motorcycles--take a moment to think of the possibilities.

How long'll the PC folks have to wait before it's released for us? I can't afford a game system at the moment, and besides I'd probably get an X-Box instead of a PS2 (though it is a bit of a tossup)...

No release date has been announced (I don't think it's even been officially announced for PC yet), but I'd guess 4-6 months. There were 6 months between the 2 versions of GTA3, IIRC.

I'm really looking forward to this one. On the subject of music: if it had been set in the near future would we have had all those Pop Idol wannabes on the radio?....hmmm...the 80's will do just fine methinx.

Well...they could always make a few of the radio-stations playing old songs (Both old songs, taken from what we see as old songs, the day today, and old songs as they would call old songs (Present day songs, would be old in 2020...)
