On tinning kits
The main use I have found for tinning kits is to stop food (eg. lichen) that you find on the ground from rotting away. It also stops rations that contain meat from spoiling.Comment

I don't think that Lembas spoils, and if it does then it takes an awful long time to do so. Tins don't spoil, neither to Rations. Corpses spoil. I'm not sure about your everyday rations.<p style="font-size:1024px">HTML is disabled in signatures </p>Comment

Lembas doesn't spoil either, as I generally carry it as a backup throughout most of the game so I would have noticed it."I'm so happy I could go and drive a car crash!"
