  • "Total Club Manager" feedback please

I saw Total Club Manager in a shop the other day and had a little play with it. The interface really looks pretty astounding and if feels like it could be fun.

Has anyone got it and played it with enough depth to tell me if the mechanics of the game are right up there with CM or if it sucks?

I haven't been able to find an on-line review of it (so far).

I wanted to dl the demo, but it was 270 MB, so I'm not bothering...

Maybe when I've cleared up some disk space =)

PC Gamer have a review this month and gave it 64%. They say that it is more like 'Theme Football Manager' than a serious simulation. Screenshots look nice but it looks like I'll be sticking with CM.

Ah, but putting aside the realism factor, is it fun, that's what I want to know.

In my hopelessly biased opinion, pulling your own teeth out is more fun than any football management sim. Now American Football sims, they're just about bearable
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

I've considered getting it. After all, it'll be at least December by the time CM 4 comes out. Something has to fill the gap.

The realism thing doesn't bother me all that much. I'll get all the realism I can cope with (probably more) with CM 4. As long as Total Club Manager is good fun I'll be interested.

Zopper: Have you got a link to where I can download the demo?

Hmmm. Fun. An interesting concept. I'd never considered that in my quest to step into Martin O'Niell's shoes. Football. It's a funny old game.

If I had any interest in soccer, I'm sure I would enjoy this game. I am, however, looking forward to .400 Studios' (makers of Out of the Park Baseball) Football.net next year. That should do for football what Out of the Park did for baseball management sims.

I once watched Baseball on TV. I was fascinated by all the little signals...the way the pitcher would look away nonchalantly...spit a globule of phlegm onto the park..run his forefinger around the rim of his cap...look to God for some inspiration...spin around... and whamo! STEEERIKE ONE! Then again, maybe I'm way off bat(pun intended). Think I'll stick with footie(or soccer as you call it in the good ole US of A)

Baseball kicks ass! (Unfortunately, however, the Red Sox do NOT kick ass. *sigh* )

Since the Red Sox are out of it all I'm rooting for the Twins and the Cards to get to the World Series this year. They've both had very tough years for different reasons and deserve a trip to the Fall Classic.

Anyway, sorry to take this thread off-topic.

Scratch your nuts one time too many and you could disrupt the entire gameplay.
