I call BS because those look like they are the same units in the Warcraft III editor.

      That doesn't mean it's BS.
(Why do you think they're in the editor?)

It's BS as a preview. It's obviously an interesting Easter egg.

Yes. Obviously SC is a long time away. Blizzard spaces its games out.

I will call it BS because there is little chance that Blizzard has begun work on StarCraft 2. Why you ask, Blizzard has three teams, one of their teams other than the WC3 team could have worked on it. Here is why:

            Yes they have three teams.

One is the WC3 team. They had no time to work on StarCraft2 yet unless they are simply going to release WC3 with some different graphics for the extra money. That is something that I don't see them doing. And they are the most likely team to work on StarCraft2 since they made WC1, WC2, SC, and WC3 now. Most likely they were working on this game and add a little easter egg like they have in past games and in Diablo. Something to make fans like you crazy. Before they work on StarCraft 2 they will make an XP to WC3, so that game is at least 3 or 4 years off.

The second team is Blizzard North. So far all they have done is Diablo I, Diablo II, and Diablo II LOD. It seems like a weird jump to start making a RTS. One that does not seem likely when they have a team that has been making critically aclaimed RTS for ten years. So they are either working on Diablo III or someother title that we have not heard of yet.

The final team is the one working on World of WarCraft. Again, lots of work. No time to be working on StarCraft 2 as well.

So, while I do not doubt a new StarCraft, this is not a trailer nor is it any indication of a future game. Blizzard most likely will make it after the WC3 XP is released. Which means a long wait due to Blizzard's long release cycle.

I think it's pretty clear SC is in development, but will probably be 3-4 years away.

The WC thing is just something to keep the SC junkies happy, it's obviously not a preview/sneak peak at SC since it's so far away and will likely use a hugely modified WC3 engine, if not its own.

The people who are adding content to the WC3 expansion aren't the game programmers, btw.

That's why I think it's entirely likely that the programmers are working on the early work for SC while the content team works on WC3's Expansion, since there's nothing for them to do content for on SC yet.

                          Logic, blizzard's release history.

It takes them 3-4 years to develop a game.

They want consistant revenue, so they aim to release games on a somewhat timely schedule.

I'm guessing that we will see a game set in a new world before we see SCII.

If it is it's by a Blizzard Team no one's heard of before.
