Anyone else been keeping track of this game? Its supposed to have shipped, and is probably in stores today. It looks promising; but having been burnt too many times already on 'promises', I'm waiting for more input.

I'm having a heck of a time finding the game's homepage too. It is published by Infogrames (arghh), and their site doesn't link too it directly that I can see.

    ya mean this game:

i read about it....don't know what to think of it yet..
<Kassiopeia> you don't keep the virgins in your lair at a sodomising distance from your beasts or male prisoners. If you devirginised them yourself, though, that's another story. If they devirginised each other, then, I hope you had that webcam running.
Play Bumps! No, wait, play Slings!

I read a couple of previews, to me the game didn't seem that interesting. (if we are talking about the same game)

I'm still waiting for Praetorians another strategy game where you can command the Roman armies. It is only focused on combat (like Total War) and it looks really promising IMO.
      here's the ign preview

        I've played it.

It's not really my cup of tea. The game is a little bit too "beer and pretzel" for me... it's a rather simple and leisurely game.

I've never been a fan of anything roman-era, anyways

I really have nothing to play at the moment, so I may give Legion a chance.

I LOVE Ancient era games, but RTS would not be my first choice. Definitely waiting on some in depth reviews (not trite crud from PC Gamer) before deciding to purchase. I havent got time to play it much anyway

              It isn't a RTS game...

The game has been getting mixed reviews.

The beta testers are fawning over it; while those who have actualy paid for the game are more negative about it.

                Check the discussion forums carefully.

I should have phrased that better. The combat looks too much like the sort of basic RTS you get in games like Caesar or Pharoah. I'm also disappointed with the number of commands issuable pre-combat. They seem to have pruned back hard on all the features outside of combat but havent increased the combat intricacies as a result. Maybe its a fun game but it seems just a bit too simplified for my tastes. The absence of micromanagement saving tools like 'goto' is another body blow.

                    Thanx for the input.

If I find a demo, I might try it. But I am being cautious: that money could go towards the new Unreal Tournament for heaven sakes!

-The Trades gave it a B+
                          -Gamespy gave it a 78
-Action Trip gave it a 69

Gamespot isn't known for giving accurate reviews on lesser known and overhyped games. Everything in between isn't that bad though.

Both The Trade and Gamespy ratings are acutally pretty good. Gamespy uses the whole 100 points more than most site.
