I'm serious about this one. it's not a joke game like statbuilder or progress quest.
it's an rpg with some fun elements of choice to it. I was intrigued by the manual, but when I started playing it this morning, I spent two hours without a rest. it seems odd, but I seem to want to get involved in the politics of the island.
it's one of those games where it's advantageous to talk to as many people as you can. So far in the game, I've discovered that I have a big stack of quests, some of which I don't even want to complete. one of the quests is for me to assassinate the leader of one of the factions, and instead I decided to join him!
when an enemy appears, the game switches to a turn based mode somewhat like XCOM or Master Of Orion. combat doesn't turn off until you turn it off, so there were some occaisions where I left combat mode on for certain advantages while exploring in dangerous areas. combat mode is somewhat unwieldy for general moving, though.
this is quite the experience, and I reccomend it for those who like the role playing in rpg's. I'm even considering buying the full version at some point.
one last thing this is not like. this is not like dink smallwood. dink is like diablo lite - REALLY lite.
