What exactly is it that you have problems with?
As for winning the game, I did it by saving whenever I was going to make a risky move.
This game isn't enjoyable if you don't like statistics.DISCLAIMER: the author of the above written texts does not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for any offence and insult; disrespect, arrogance and related forms of demeaning behaviour; discrimination based on race, gender, age, income class, body mass, living area, political voting-record, football fan-ship and musical preference; insensitivity towards material, emotional or spiritual distress; and attempted emotional or financial black-mailing, skirt-chasing or death-threats perceived by the reader of the said written texts.

To be honest, I can't remember very well how that stuff worked (only that I saved as a madman ). Isn't there something like "reputation"? That stuff was pretty reinforcing, the worse it was, the more difficult it was to get a deal through, which in turn damaged your reputation, and vice versa. So unless you like saving and reloading, it's advisable to only do something when you're fairly sure it will be accepted.
For the rest, it's a matter of logic (like not bombing a tranquil and respected country or giving economic aid to Switserland) and luck.
I don't know how you're supposed to win, I never bothered with it either because I felt more like watching statistics.DISCLAIMER: the author of the above written texts does not warrant or assume any legal liability or responsibility for any offence and insult; disrespect, arrogance and related forms of demeaning behaviour; discrimination based on race, gender, age, income class, body mass, living area, political voting-record, football fan-ship and musical preference; insensitivity towards material, emotional or spiritual distress; and attempted emotional or financial black-mailing, skirt-chasing or death-threats perceived by the reader of the said written texts.
