Game 11982 hasn't been solved yet!

You might like to try Freecell Pro, lots more games (over 4 billion) plus lots of other cool features.

      I stand corrected, then.
I see from the FreeCell FAQ that my playstyle would be called to find the longest/best flourish.

When I worked for the government and was sitting on my butt for hours on end doing nothing (your tax dollars at work), I played Freecell non-stop. After a few months, my win-loss record was something like 1500-800 or some similarly ludicrous number. I did not bother to remember any tricky ones, though.

I was never that good with 57 wins and 90 losses. Many of those losses are results of me getting bored and just quitting before I really lost.

I'm totally addicted. I never replay losses. My win percentage always hovers around 90%.

Here the plan for getting the most wins in a row. Play a few times (winning them of course) and then reboot. Keep repeating. If you ever lose one, just power down your system and the losses won't be tallied

            How's that for an addict?

That's cheating. I have rules on how often I cheat
Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi Wan's apprentice.

I tried that for a while when I was going for most wins in a row. The 90% is without cheating (otherwise would be 100%)

You don't even need to reboot. Just press [ctrl]+[alt]+[del] to bring up the task manager, then click on "freecell game#..." and press "end task". When a dialog box comes up to ask if you want to quit the game, press "no" (otherwise the game will be recorded as a loss) then wait a few seconds. Windows will tell you that the program has stopped responding and you can now close the game.

Are you tempted to cheat now?

Even quicker, highlight the FreeCell entry in the process list and click on the end task button twice. Windows prompts you to terminate the process (the game) right away. No more waiting!

Ah, so NT users get an easier way to cheat.
Win 98 isn't so easy, I expect XP works the same way as 2000.

Sweet, I never thought of that. Now I'm gonna freak out my Dad when he comes over and sees 400 straight victories. heh-heh

And, if you're really desperate, you can use regedit to go into the registry and change the values for wins and losses (not that I would ever do that, of course ). The "stype" field is for the current streak type -- 0 means losses; 1 means wins.

Actually, my registry gets pretty hosed up as it is, that is, without me messing with it. Case in point, just spend most of last night reformatting my C: drive and reloading windowz. But Thanks for the tip.
