While MC might have serious problems, the game is not dead yet! They just need to find a new publisher and they are still on the search.
I LOVED! Stars!, and I think S!SG would be a great game but I'm not the least optimistic I'll ever see it. And I hope I'm totally wrong!

Yep. Even Wizardry 8 only took 18 months to find a publisher. After 2 years most people would dismiss a game as outdated even if it still did have potential.To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.
