What exactly are "tycoon" games, and where should the sim- games belong?

True wargames (with added hexes!) are loved by some, hated by others, so they could deserve their own category.
I didn't check RTS because the ones I liked i.e. original C&C and EU1/2 are very much the exceptions. The same goes for FPS. I don't think I've paid money for one since Duke Nukem.To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

I haven't checked classic games because I find playing them on the computer boring-ish (with the possible exception of Risk) and on simulation because I don't think you meant EU2.

No definately a category all it's own. For those of us who love wargaming only we understand. Mainstream strat games are usually too simplistic. Wargames are complex interpretations of real life events.Originally posted by ADG

Me likes wargames, RTS-s, TBS-games and a couple of RPG games.
And I only play sports games with my friends, but I always get angry at development teams, damn them all to hell!! After a few hours the game is not simulating nor the game is fun to play, you allways win by some little bug or a invincible tactic... A development team that after almost 10 years expirience in the same type of games cant make a decent soccer game is a freaking joke...I dont even know why I keep buying these games..Some people never get crazy...but truly boring lives they must lived...Comment

hmm. While I play some FPS games and sports games I didn't vote for them. I don't play them enough to check that. I played Max Payne for like a day (I didn't pay for it- it was my brother's). I quickly grew bored of Madden football.
So it is TBS and RPG games for me. Rpg's take a slight edge over TBS's games- at least recently. If civ3 had been better...Comment
