  • Total Annihilation 2?

There have been numerous rumors circulating that Total Annihilation 2 is being developed by Phantagram for Infogrames. Infogrames acquired Total Annihilation when they bought GT Interactive. The Korean site GameShot apparently noticed that Total Annihilation 2 was on a list of upcoming release dates (allegedly Q4 2004). Moderators of the official French Infogrames forums have indicated that the source code is in good hands. Phantagram last created the RTS Kingdom Under Fire.

Today, several individuals in the Total Annihilation community received an e-mail, apparently from Adam Lancman, the Managing Director and CEO of Infogrames Studios Asia. The e-mail indicated that a new Total Annihilation game was being made and that a press release would be forthcoming some time in the future. Chris Taylor, the designer of the original TA, does not appear to be involved with this project.

Is this true? If so what are your thoughts on this possible development?

It seems like Infogrames is really set on recreating all of the classics. I hope the developers can do them justice, and I hope infogrames will let them.

I don't remember hearing anything about Kingdom Under Fire. Was it only released in Asia?

Actually, I think KUF was German...

I managed to get a copy of it, and it seemed fairly original with the RPG stuff, but overall it didn't have a great amount of excitement.

I don't remember ever seeing it on shelves, but I thought there were lots of rumors that it was on it's way Stateside.
