  • Defender: Any good PC versions around?

I used to love this arcade game, but was too cheap to get good at it.
Then I got it on a TRS80 and played it to death.
I probably played it on Atari too.

Surely there is a decent PC-based version of this game around.

I've got the version that came with "Williams Arcade Classics", and it is only about 400k. I also have perfect renderings of Robotron: 2084, Joust (post-pterodactyl fix, however), Sinistar, Defender 2 (Stargate), and Bubbles. All just like the arcade games, with certain exceptions: they run faster and their screen ratios have been slightly adjusted to fit a computer monitor.

      Thanks.
I will chase down a copy.
I have already found what you mean, but for Nintendo.

        Wow.
        This looks promising:

        To download MAME emulator

Click here and search for your favourite arcade title

I tried "defender" and "rygar" and good plenty of responses.
I have never come across rygar fans anywhere, but here is the game!

Here is the site that recommended this

Actually it looks like MAME is not news on these forums.
Here is a thread with access to other emulator sites:
          Gauntlet and MAME
