  • Sid Chat for SimGolf

That damn golf game, now he's having a chat to promote it. Damn man, work on the REAL game, not this golf stuff, but CivilizationIII!

Hey, we never had a chat for civ III !!
    Damned traitor!

But hey, at least the sim golf has puke colored graphics, too!

I wouldn't mind so much if civ III didn't look like crap.

oh well. ...what were the release dates for empire earth and moo3 again? for 50 bucks i think i'll sit this one out until it drops to $20.

I truly hope this game fails and Civ III sells 3 million copies and Sid realizes the error of his ways and returns to empire-style games. He has tried many different genres over the eras, and I hope he finds empire building as the genre that nets him the most fun and money.

Perhaps we should protest the release of SidGolf and boycot its sales at stores, forcing people to buy Civ III instead of it?

And to think I gave Sid the idea. This is horrible. Simply horrible. I hope the interviewer at least tries to slip in something about Civ3, but we might not like what we read:

"Well, Sid, the Golf Sim is really looking to be a fascinating look at how tiny golf courses can affect tiny people's lives. By the way, any word on your real **I mean, OTHER** game, the much-anticipated Civ3?"

...puts down mouse after slapping "Hole-in-one Marcia" for running her cart over newly-laid Formica (see image) tile...

"Huh? Um, oh yeah. Well, I'd tell you about that, but our webpage hasn't been updated in quite a while..."

        (Sid's Formica):

what a loser sid is! i cannot believe he is spending his time trying to make a simulation of a stupid pastime for poncy bastards!
graphics suck! i got used to civ3 roads going over everything and the way they are obscured by other terrain here is deplorable
it is indicative, however, that sid did not have a single chat on civ3. lets hope that the rest of the civ3 team regard the game as more than a cash cow.....

hey, let the pal make golf games, if he wants to !
it's his job and his life.

if you want civ3 that desperately, why don't you create it yourself ?

of course I'm not going to buy any golf-games,
after all golf sucks anyway, but hey............ pherhaps there are golf-people out there that hate civ-alike-games (can't imagine, but you never know )

I hope the golf dudes have a great time with Sid this evening,
but on the other hand, it would be VERY funny as well if 300 civ-fans get in the chat and only ask him questions about civ3

Just wondering. where is all this publicity coming from? Is there a golf section at Firaxis or something. it would really irritate me if they have a simgolf section they update daily, but only update the civ3 section once every 3 or 4 months.

on the other hand, if all the pub is from maxis, then I won't worry too much. We would probably get as much if they were making Sid Meier's SimCivilizationIII.

on second thought, I'm glad it's not that...

oh, no. I was hoping they weren't neglecting us. now it seems they are.

perhaps the reason there hasn't been a civ3 update in so long is becasue they aren't working on civ3 any more.

maybe it has gone the way of the dinosaur. (sniff)

I was only there for a litle over 10 minutes (then I had to go)

I asked a question but did not see it answered

I was not and am not sure if I will buy it

                        I did see this though

Sid said that SimGolf will be out October 2001

maybe this is where that October thing came from and Civ3 is farther away?

Did anyone stay and watch the whole chat?

                          What was said?

                          What pictures were shown?

                          How does the game look?

Give us the details if you could...
