  • X-COM Collection: need help!

I went and bought the collection cuz I remembered how much I loved the game- only the screen gets squished into a thin bar at the top. I can still play, but it's annoying...I figure it's my graphics card vs. ancient software. Anyone have some suggestions?

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

Which games in the collection are causing the problem? You don`t want to bother with any of them other than Apocalypse and Interceptor, but that`s just my opinion.

Is that the one where you get all the games up to Interceptor? I have that one. I only got it for interceptor because it was £15 while Interceptor on it's own was £50! I hardly touched the first two and I already had Apocalypse. Didn't come across that problem on my PC. Did you try putting your resolution at 1024x768 ?

My goal is to get through Apocalypse before this summer is out. I found that personally hunting down every last batch of aliens (though use of the alien infiltration window) makes the game a lot quicker to play....

I just can`t get anywhere on Apocalypse. I need to research the bigger UFO`s to get further, but I can`t shoot any down. It`s doing my head in quite considerably.

I've played too much Apocalypse since I got it I reinstall it start off a game and then I get bored. It's the start you need to do too much right at the start like ordering in all the new equipment and selling all the useless weopons.
Thing is any film where it has any sort of organisation protecting a city sending out troops to hunt out the bad guys I just need to send in the tanks!

Apocalypse isn't very difficult. I played the game a long time ago, and managed to inflitrate the alien dimension before losing interest.

                  Several quick points:

                  - Use the flying car, not the plane. The flying car is a lot cheaper and pack sufficient firepower.

                  - You need to have several bases so your crafts can converge on the enemy. Try to make sure they all attack at once.

                  - Avoid large UFOs in the beginning.

                  - Attack the cult for practice and loot.

                  - Do lots and lots of research.
