  • Diablo/Hellfire Mods

I was cruising the net, looking for that cow level page, when I ran across some people who have hacked diablo or hellfire into various mods. seems like there's a lot of them out there.
The only one I've got so far is Purgatory, which my wife has been playing. she complains that the monsters are REALLY mean. she got herself killed numerous times in the chamber of bone as a level 20 knight.

So... Have any of you guys tried these? can you reccomend any?

I never really played with D1 enough to get into any mods (and never got hellfire as it didn't rate very highly by the time it finally made it out over here) but the most highly recommended seems to be Khan & Varaya's (sp?) mod.

Their site seems to be undergoing "reconstruction" at the moment but here's the link anyway ...

I think the mod is also uploaded (along with a large number of duds) at http://diablo.cheatlist.com/ under "Diablo1 hacklist" and then "mods" but you'll have to work at separating the gems from the, er, "slightly flawed" gems.

    cheers

http://www.lurkerlounge.com/mods.shtml is a good site to find quality mods as well.

Thanks for all the info, Dinodoc.

I have downloaded a number of mods for hellfire, and one for Diablo - V&K's middle earth. I guess I have trouble doing without the jog in town.

            My hellfire mods are:
The Dark - haven't played much
Doomfire - been playing a lot, and have to save a lot because of the crashes. neat, though. my character picked up a couple of items I've drooled over
Purgatory - was playiing until we got grabbed by doomfire
            Icestorm - haven't played
            V&K's - haven't played

To Hell (so to speak) with Diablo II, I'm still on the original...
