I saw it recently priced at 20$ US. Is it worth the price? Would you recommend getting it?

For $20, sure I'd get it. When you have way too many units in the field (and I mean like 10,000 alltogether for all the 'clans') the game slows down alot for me. But I only have 64RAM so thats probably it. I anjoyed it alot though. Good game for sure.

The tactical segment is good, the strategic segment is shallow, and once you played as every clan (including the rebels) once there's no replay value.
For USD20, I'd go for it.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

Let's see.
You need a 4MB graphics card, directX 7, 500 MB HDD space, and 4x CD-ROM drive.

Depends. Oda has the cheap and powerful Yaru Ashigarus, Hojo is very rich, and Uesugi has its back against the seas.
BTW, there were some quite lively discussions on the game a few months ago so you might want to check the archives.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

Hmm, Is there any special reason why the game refuses to play under the Windows ME OS? Would it help if I went back to Win 98?I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

No idea why it shouldn't work under Windows Me. It works fine under 9x. Have you checked the minimum hardware requirements?(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

I had no problems playing the game on a P450 with 64 Mb Ram and a good graphics card. Having said that I found the 1 player game unsatisfying after not too many hours gameplay. The strategic level economy does not really work. You are far better off churning out cheap troops and capturing half the board fast than sitting back and trying to upgrade to better classes. Unfortunately ther is no quick start option to give all players better buildings at the beginning of the game so you actually see them in play in time to make a difference. To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

Yaru Ashigarus are lousy unless you are Oda. Even then they aren't up to snuff really.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

The yari are pretty poor except for defensive work like helping hold bridges or hilltops. Charging downhill or fighting disorganised troops they will win against samurai. My point was that you are better off using basic samurai troops to sieze more and more lands fast than trying to plough money into building improvements. It just takes too long to upgrade the castle, the dojo, the armory, the smithy etc to get any significantly better troop types. You could have spent those years successfully invading instead. To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.
