  • Civ Books

I just bought a copy of Civilization for 1$ at the local thrift store. Why? Because it has this book included in the box - "The Official Guide To Sid Meier's Civilization" by Keith Ferrell.
I've never heard of this book before. looks like this guy rambles on about the game for 220 some pages.
Can anyone tell me what other civ books are out there?
I've heard of the classic "Rome on 640k per day", but it seems to be out of print. is there anyplace to download a PDF of it or something like that?

I'm sure the official and unofficial AC strategy guides are still on sale, so I won't ask to get them, but what about the out of print ones?

yeah, what else civ-related books are there, apart from the SMAC-related ones? are all of them strategy guides or are there also some fun ones?

Hey, I finished the civ1 book today. ended up being not bad. at first he was saying trite things like, "if you put too much into military production, you might find you lack the infrastructure for much growth". but he got better. sort of a strategy guide for people who've never been to apolyton.
Definitely about his own opinions. he says writing is the single best tech, Great Library is the best wonder, and caravans are of little use in building wonders. better to use them on lucrative trade routes.
