  • Apolyton Chess Club : a new challenger please

After my victory against Ken, I am waiting for a new challenger. The first new one (I mean one who hasn’t played for the championship yet) to step up will be chosen. If after a week, no new challenger has defied me, I will accept the defy of an old one in chronological order (Kcbob, Carolus, Smash, Ken). The deadline is Saturday the 27th at 1am American East-Coast Time (7am Central European Time). If neither a new, nor an old challenger has defied me by that time, I will take the first one to come up later. I hope it is clear enough.

Okay, enough of this tip-toe-ing around.

En garde, Julius. Choose your weapon, er, color. And may the best man (me) win.

218??? I wish. 248 is more like it. But, would you believe today I started on a diet? I promise.

        Anyway, I digress.

Choose my pieces? Could I see something in a tweed? No, then how about... white!!!

        * note to self, don't blow it now *

        1. d4 (which I hope is synonymous with 1. P-Q4)

Do you give up, Julius? (Thought I'd take a shot at it)

Not yet, although your first move was one the strongest possible.

I suggest we keep with only the algebraic notation. But if you are not confortable with it, we might use the descriptive too. It is as you pleased.

Algebraic indeed and the Dutch defense. I've got some ducht ancestors.

Good grief! Now I've gotta go invest in a chess openings book. I'll make my next move tomorrow from work.

Why not directly pay a grand-master ? More expensive, maybe ... (Psychological warfare once again)

I guess SilverDragon has fallen to the end of the list?

Great that we have a game going again! Good luck to both players!

BTW, dupe threads? Confusing to my narrow, shallow mind!
