Regis : Here comes the Apolyton World Chess championship question , Julius do you play :
            a) Qxg2+ checkmate (or so it seems)
            b) Bxf3 removing the defender of the poor Bg5 to win it one move later
            c) Rfc8 the nimzowitchian mysterious rook move
            d) Ne4 forking three pieces and setting fire on the board.
Julius, hmm, it’s not an easy choice, Qxg2+ is tempting, and I love Nimzowitch. I use my phone call joker.
            R : who do you call ?
            J : my girlfriend.
            R : does she play chess ?
J : no, but I’d promised to call her.
L : (full name not necessary) : play a) for this check sort of mate ! so you can come home.
R: answer a) seem to hold up pretty well, who would dare to go against the choice of heart ?
J: But I’m not sure yet.. It is so important a choice. I ask the audience too.
            R : the public says Qxg2+ (34%), Bxf3 (52%), Rfc8 (1%) and Ne4 (12%), seems there is but one Nimzowith fan in the theater.
[a little man steps up from a far away corner and claims and then screams with a squeaky voice : “I am Aaaron Nimzowitch”. Security forces quickly set the matter]
R (again) : so Julius what is your choice. May I recall you that you have but one joker remaining.
J : Well, I use the 50-50 joker, too. I cannot decide yet.
            R : are you sure ?
            J : yes !
R : Okay, computer please remove two answers !
Oh, it definitely seems to go against love ! only b) and d) remain.
            J : then I choose answer d), Ne4 because b) is too obvious.
R : the criterions of choice are all yours Julius.
J : then may fire walk with me !
R : is this your final answer ?
J : yes, it is my final answer !
R : Ok then, right after 10 days of commercials, we will see if your choice was the right one !

They also have that game on French tv ! It is so long, so dramatized and most of the questions are too stupid. My version is a short one ! But we don’t have that Regis, ours is called Jean-Pierre !
(see my parody on page 2 of this thread)

In the Swedish version of the show you don't need voting gadget malfunctions... The host, Bengt Magnusson, attacked the audience in the media the other week... Supposedly, they seem to vote for the wrong answers all the time, misleading the guy asking for help...

Come to think of it, pretty good deal after all!? Just go with the alternative that got the fewest votes!

You know, I hope I'm not appearing to be as big a blithering idiot to the rest of you as I am to myself. This is embarrasing.

Easier with one piece more than the opponent, I know, but a pretty move anyway. Unprotected knight twice “en prise” !

Kcbob, too bad you misplaced this pawn in d5 when it was in d6. After 9 e5, black had a big advantage but you could manage to grab some pawns with 10 Bg5 or 10 Nb5. After 10 dxe5, it was all over, 14 Nh4 losing very quickly. I like your metaphor of the tunnel ! If I calculated correctly you end up at least a rook down.
