Baldur's Gate 2!!!

Who else has played this magnificent game? Amazing gameplay this time around and the story is top notch. I'm just in Chapter 2, and I've already had more fun than some games I bought.

And days later, I can eat... still playing, but taking a break to eat...

Very funny thing.. in the Save/Load screens they have helpful tips. One is: "Characters don't have to eat, but YOU do! We don't want to lose any dedicated players."

Just bought it today, and I've been playing it until now (it crashed ). BG2 sucked me in to the game world as strong as the best Ultimas ever did, and that's a very high compliment coming from me.

BTW, in the dungeon where I started, I didn't get to explore much until I found myself on the outside.
Apart from the bounty hunter NPC, is there anything else essential in there?

Uh, Imoen, Jahiera, and Minsc (and Boo) might be considered at least semi-important by some. They're all with you, right?

John, it's kind of hard NOT to get them...

I was talking more along the lines of magic items and experience-yielding tasks.
The only big thing I got from the dungeon was the Helm of Balduran, the one that gives you +5hp and saving throw bonuses.

I don't think there was anything important (though I did scour the whole place), and nothing that you won't get soon in Athkatla.

Did you guys get the 'bonus disk' with your copies? (I will start playing this evening - spent yesterday loading tons of s/ware onto new toy - reward starts tonight!) Here in the UK I received a bonus disk because the copy was pre-ordered and it appears (from the blurb) to be an extension of the original starting dungeon....

So, has anyone actually killed Firkraag the Dragon?
I tried with my 12-13 level party, and I couldn't even touch him. The damn thing just shrugged off all of my spells, stomped on the two fire elementals and a bunch of bears I summoned, then breathed half of my guys to death. Any survivor were wing-swatted (or whatever the attack's name is) to unconsciousness.

IMO dragons are way tougher now than in the old gold box games, and that's the way it should be.

I'm starting to get mad at the game tonight.

There are some areas in the game, especially dungeons, that were apparently done in a rush, at least judging from the bugs and pathfinding problems.
The damn idiots get themselves killed by sticking onto every friggin' corner, then to add insult to injury, the game crashes when I try to exit an area...

Now, so that you won't think I hate the game, how many of you have Mazzy Fentan in the party?
I gave her the Girdle of Hill Giant Strength (19) and a bunch of magic armor for an AC of -7, and now she demolishes everyone, even more than Minsc.
She's cute too!

I just bought this game today. I've only reached the garden where the fairies ask you to retrieve the acorns.
From what I've seen so far, it is fairly lush and fantastic, and I can't wait to get in contact with more NPC's. My only slight quibble though is that, you don't really get a good close up view of the various people you talk with. Fallout 2 was good in this respect. Some of the babes look really nice, and it would be nice to get a good close perv.
