        Yes.

        I must admit I expected 3. ... e5xd4 instead of 3. ... Nc6xd4.

Oh well, one horse off to McDonalds!

e5xd4, Nc6xd4... six of one, half dozen of the other. Unless you were going to let me keep the pawn out the the kindness of your heart.

Make that two horses off to McDonald's. I could of course have posted "two" earlier, but I don't want to give anything away in this game.

"As the White Queen slowly inspected the field she now was dominating, a feeling of satisfaction slowly absorbed her. Because everywhere she looked she saw nothing but trembling creatures of the Black Civilization. She sensed their fear, she inhaled it, and an evil smile was discernible on her face. Everything was as she expected it to be..."

"And so it was that the evil White kingdom continued to harass the poor peace loving folk of the other side of the board... who only wanted to be left alone, only wanted to live free, only wanted to feed their horses. A bishop, a member of the clergy began to meddle in the affairs of the Blacks. And in response, they answered meekly, sending forth a mere pawn to beg for mercy."

I may be slow, too. I'm still waiting on a new monitor to be delivered to my home. All of these posts have been done from work. Ssshhhh! I hope to have the monitor waiting for me when I get home tonight. If not, maybe tomorrow. If not then, see ya Monday.

Carolus, if you'd rather I not interact with the kibutzers, just say the word and I'll devote my entire attention (well, most of it ) to the game.

But, in the meantime, Smash, I'm curious (and hopefully not too defensive sounding). Was my c6xd4 dubious enough to warrant a '?' in the notation? And more to the point, why would you consider it dubious? As Black, I don't mind trading pieces early in the game to slow White's attack. If I took with the pawn, I would have expected White to take with the knight, I would take with the knight, White would take with the Queen, and voila... same position. If I support with my Queen's pawn, d7-d6, White moves his Queens pawn forward, d4-d5 and my side of the board becomes a bit cramped.

Don't get me wrong. I love this banter back and forth. Maybe a better question from me might be 'What have I missed?' Perhaps the original descriptions of the two contestants was backwards. That's a definite possibility!
