  • Mini-Games?

Being in a nostalgic mood I realized that when I play an old game it's not the time consumer (Civ et al) which I go back and play again and again, It's the Mini Games, despite the fact that some them are older then me.

You know like Pac-Man, Breakout, Tetris, and Koules(had to throw in one no one knows ).

So my question is are there any good mini-games which hardly anyones heard of? As I am a mini-game addict and can never get enough of them.

K Im putting up a list on your site.

Hmm I thought Id registered but I guess I hadn't and then when I clicked back it was gone and refresh didn't work.

    Anyways a quick list.
    For Linux

Koules (Your a ball or an apple not sure, and your trying knock the other balls off the screen or into the black holes.)

XKobo (You fly a space ship and your trying to destroy structure as they shoot at you)

    search on http://happypenguin.org or http://www.freshmeat.net

    Windows.

Arkanoid (a breakout style game) http://www.chaossoft.com
http://www.free-games-net.com has a good list. http://www.Tucows.com is pretty comprehensive for both Linux and Windows.

And of course there a literally tons of Atari 2600 games for emulation. http://www.emunews.com/vault/
    has a decent selection.

I love mini games too. There is a post at my forum with links to some. It would be nice if you added links to your games as well.

I love those old arcade classics! I must have a million of them on my HD, and about a dozen of emulators.

Mini games rock. Windoze's Freecell is good and it's probably one of the best piece of software that ever came out of Redmond

I used to play Rogue and many of its decedents (Nethack, Moria, Omega, Angband, and Ultrarogue) a lot. Star Trek is sort of fun when you are really bored and tied .

M.U.L.E. of course rules. But I need to find an emulator before I can run it again

M.U.L.E is too complex to be a mini-game.

I suggest you guys try SkyRoads (see thread below).

But you can finish M.U.L.E. in under an hour
