  • Rise & rule of ancient empires

Has anyone tried this game? it seems kind of civ like, but has only ancient units - Infantry, Cavalry, Galleys.
you also need to either have each city research the same stuff, or set up routes to share knowledge - it isn't automatically part of your empire.

I was just about to point out that Horsie is simply making excuses in advance for why he will suck at Civ III...

    Yes I played it.
It is very very time consuming. Especially on a pentium I 133!
I never made it to the end. Never even build a wonder!
    But is has beautiful graphics.
For those who fight for it, life has a flavour the sheltered never know.

Those ancient units got me parting my hard-earned money.
This game sucks! Avoid it at all costs! If you want to see ancient units, go watch Gladiator again.

I find myself playing it anyway, since it doesn't crash when it's hot like civ2 does.
I do find myself getting annoyed that my city won't grow to more than 2200, and there's a lot of stuff like that that wasn't explained in the help file. I wonder if it was in the manual, or if there ever was a manual for this thing.
