The Altera Centauri collection has been brought up to date by Darsnan. It comprises every decent scenario he's been able to find anywhere on the web, going back over 20 years.

I liked the option to play on the 'real' world map in Civ/Civ2 with all the civilizations in the appropriate place. Is there anyway to get this in CTP, because all I get are random world, earth-like or not!

You can download the world maps, but they're very very very very unaccurate. I think that the patch coming out will have a scenario editor that allows you to place civs where they're ment to be.
