That second screen looks pretty useless so far.
It's great for games with maps, since you don't want to constantly turn away from the game to see where you are on the map. And, of course it leave the main screen for the game, while the bottom screen can have most of the interface as well.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Can't one just press Start?
I'm sorry, but if its this big huge bulky thing, jacking up the cost, etc etc for another screen which will just have maps....Not even worth it
PSP looks more attractive

It's annoying to have to turn away from the gameplay just to see the map.

First, it ain't bulky. Second, it's only going to be $150! Which is only $50 greater than a GBA, and of course the DS will be able to play 64 bit games (like from Nintendo 64, etc). So it's very cheap. The PSP will likely be much more expensive.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. that 2nd screen probably is useless - it's doubtful that machine has enough power life and graphics power to use it well. except for the gaint map everything else used to be overlayed on the main mario screen without problems. btw who needs/wants a map when they play mario?even map intensive games like metroid are fine with one screen. when you are looking at some gaint map you don't want to have to keep looking back and forth to the main game because it's not paused. i really can't think up any compelling usage unless you are going to play co-op on one of those things with 2 players.
nintendo has lost their way.Eschewing obfuscation and transcending conformity since 1982. Embrace the flux.

when ur playing games like doom, its ****ing annoying to look at a map while being chased by 4 pink demons in a maze.
but i somewhat agree with you. why not just die 78 times until u memorize the maze inside and out? no really, that is the only you could have done it in the old days anyway...
kids today are too soft. cant handle that ****!:-p

Except, Silicon Knights, for example, said point-blank the reason they left Nintendo 2nd party status was constant pressure to dumb their games down. Silicon Knights has no relationship with MS right now, so I'd doubt it was MS throwing money their way..."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. What's interesting is the current sales momentum: http://bink.nu/DesktopModules/Articl...ArticleID=1734
MICROSOFT'S Xbox price cut at AU$249 has appeared to pay off, with the company claiming its first ever weekly sales overreaching its rival Sony PlayStation 2.
2 weeks ago Xbox took 50 per cent of the "next generation" console market, 15 per cent ahead of PlayStation2. Nintendo's GameCube accounted for 7 per cent of sales. The Xbox win has been a long time coming, with the PlayStation 2 and Xbox consoles fighting a pitched battle for more than two years.
Approximately 500,000 Xbox consoles have been sold in Australia, Microsoft said. However, with more than one million sold PlayStation 2's sold locally, Microsoft has conceded that it will probably never match the PlayStation 2's large lead in overall console numbers.
Xboxes are selling faster than PS2s, and both are selling way faster than Gamecubes."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
