  • WC3 1.15 readme released.

    After a little wait.

It looks damn good on paper.

Slight balancing nerfs to things which were too good.........fan of knives, slow, detroyers, ud nuke, dragonhawks, quillbeasts, chimaeras, some items.

I'm surprised Bolt and Shadow Strike didn't get small nerfs also, but maybe that's just me.

Slight buffs to UD casters, aboms, wyrms, and orc SW.

    Seems nice. Firaxis take notes.

What exactly did you want Firaxis to take note of?
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

How to support a game even after people have bought it and you want to focus on your next title. How to listen to the feedback of people that play the game way too much. How to set up an efficient beta testing system so that any glitches can be ironed out avoiding embarrassing and frustrating major cockup patches.

I don't think Firaxis have as much resources as Blizzard do to support their games.

They have enough resources, they just choose not to use them to finish C3C (or indeed to avoid farcical cockups), or at least within any reasonable time frame. I hope they prove me wrong.

I fail to see how you arrive at that conclusion.

Paradox is still supporting Europa Universalis II three years later.

The beta patch is out now. You can get it easily by connecting to an additional server they have provided, and your game automatically reverts to 1.14b if you return to your normal gateway. They are encouraging feedback. Good stuff.

Upon reading that I checked for the latest patch. When was v1.08 released? When I went to check for any patches, which was about 2 months ago, I found I already had the then latest patch which was something like 9 months old.

Also the Goblin Tinker is definitely for real. I tried him yesterday and he is very weak at the moment. He'll be buffed before 1.15 is out properly.

1.08 is very recent(week or three i'd guess). paradox probably hasn't gone 6 months without a beta patch for eu2 so what you said above is probably wrong. the key thing here is that you must goto the eu2 forums and download the patches as they aren't official. they are also beta patches but most are improvements and have few problems.
